Hello hello! Thanks for considering sponsorship! I’ve been able to self-fund the production phase of this project with the free and low-cost help of supportive friends in the doc industry. That means I already have a rough cut (or rough draft) initial version of the film that’s 90% complete and it can be made available upon request. But, since it has become a longer story than originally intended and much of it takes place in the past, I now need to raise $50,000 for post-production, which would primarily go to licensing the archival footage and photos that are not from people’s home archives. The first $30,000+ will go to licensing archival footage, while the remaining funds will go to finalizing costs like color grading, sound engineering, closed captioning and potentially a couple of short animated spots.

It’s really tough and time intensive to raise this kind of money through general crowdfunding where people donate small amounts. So I’m first focusing on securing a base-level of post-production funding via sponsorship by February 29th 2024. Then, if needed, I’ll raise any last costs via general crowdfunding.

Currently looking to secure pledge amounts that will help me with my post-production planning while I work on getting 501c3 sponsorship which would make these donations tax deductible. Then, I’ll be looking to collect funds by end of March, with some flexibility going into April.

Additionally, for donations of 10K and above, I’m willing to make a deal to return the donation amount plus interest if the film gets a licensing deal, if that’s of interest.
